Castle Clash - Heroes Expedition Guide

The latest patch for Android (ver 1.2.52) introduced a new gameplay mode called Heroes Expedition (HE). Here's the skinny on how it works... then see this post on the Warehouse and Merits for *why* you want to earn these rewards!

Short description: Send your heroes only (no regular troops) on raids on other players' bases, and instead of earning Gold and Mana you earn a new resource called "Merits" for clearing more than 50% of a base. These Merits can be spent at the Warehouse, a new building introduced in the same patch, on Shards, Exp, Skill Exp, and other desirable things (see my Warehouse and Merits guide for details on what is available and the best values in the shop!).

Battle Chances: One life per hero every day. Once the hero is killed in HE, it will not revive in HE until the next day (resets at midnight, server time). Heroes on cooldown are still usable in HE, and heroes dead in HE are still usable in raids, HBM, and everything else as usual.

How to Enter: Select the Arena. Expedition will be the right-most option that pops up, as in the screenshot below:

Once inside, you'll see a lobby screen similar to the level selection screen in HBM or HT, but this one resets daily so you have to start from R1 every day. Once you clear a level for the day, you can't go back to it (i.e. once you clear R1, you have to move on to R2. R1 will unlock again the next day).

From the lobby, select the highlighted level to get to the hero selection screen. A list of all of your heroes will be along the bottom. You can choose up to 15 heroes for each level. Heroes that die for the day will automatically be removed from your selection for the next level you enter, and can be replaced with other heroes if you have more.

The other thing to note from the hero selection screen is the "Max Rewards" listing on the right side. You earn Merits and HB for clearing levels. In the example above, getting 100% on the level would award you with 27 Merits and 140 HB.
